Been there twice. I know Italian food as I grew up in Naples Italy.
This place is a joke. The first visit was right after it opened, food was average at best, horrible service, 3 hours for a meal. We gave the benefit of early growing pains, gave it one more try. The service actually got worse and so did the food. Seafood fra diavolo; 4 clams, 4 mussels 4 halves of shrimp for $24.00 all served with overcooked linguine. Stay away. As far as the music, who wants to listen to a man trying to sing Gloria Gaynor disco songs (badly) while eating overpriced pasta goo. On a positive note, the wine and drinks were good.

After several dining experiences at Dolce Vita it just gets better and better. My last entree was Shrimp Scampi over pasta. Lots of shrimp and just enough garlic to flavor the dish. We finally have a place where not only are the food and drinks great, but we are entertained after dinner. The music by Randy Loren and the dancing was something we have needed in Schenectady and the capital district for a long time. This is where to go with large parties to have a great time or an intimate dinner for 2. Thanks to Randy and his staff for many great nights that myself, family and friends have had at Dolce Vita!! BRAVO

Excellente! A must try. Wait staff is prompt and professional. Presentation of food is out of this world and cooked to delight any italian food lover. Atmosphere is great. Do not miss out on early bird specials for a great value - but the main menu is fabulous and worth every penny. You'll never dine at an italian chain again after visiting this establishment. Entertainment on weekends with dancing. White grand piano and dance floor. Comfortable and spacious bar. 2 Thumbs up. We'll be back! Might need a reservation after 6 as the place started to fill after we arrived.
